Bugs Bunny.....Wylie Coyote.....Brer Rabbit.....these are some of the trickster characters in American culture that you are probably already familiar with. The trickster tale was being told long before our country was even founded. There are stories like this in almost every culture in the world. In this WebQuest, you will put on the hat of a famous author who is researching trickster tales for a new book. You will have a chance to explore some of these legends from the Native American and African cultures.
Introduction
You are a bestselling children’s author. Your last book sold millions of copies, and your publisher is anxious for your next book! The publisher employs several other famous authors, too. They have decided to publish an anthology of original trickster tales that will be written by all of their best authors. These stories will be in the style of the famous trickster tales from Native American and African folklore.
So, where does a famous author start when they are given an assignment like this one? Let’s find out!
