The road does not look very traveled, but you know it is old. The road is lined by thick woods to the right and left. You notice the air is crisp, but not cold. The autumn sun feels warm on your skin. In the distance, you can hear some birds singing. As you follow this road, you feel happy and secure. The further you travel along it, the more relaxed you mind and body become.

As you travel on, a warm breeze caresses your face from the forest to the left. You turn to face the breeze and notice a path winding into the woods. The path is very welcoming. It is carpeted in pine needles and freshly fallen leaves. A stone wall borders the path to the left. Looking around, notice the trees. They are in full autumn glory. You see maples, oaks, pines and white bearch. The colors are so bright and vivid. Notice the reds, the oranges and the greens. See the bright yellows! You can tell this path is calling to you. You step onto the path and it is remarkably clear of debris. There are no stones to trip over. Just soft pine needles welcoming you like a red carpet.

Walk this path deep into the forest. As before, the deeper you go, the more relaxed you become. In the distance, you hear a running brook. As you round the next bend, the brook appears to the right of the path. The water in it looks crisp. You can see the large stones that the water is playing over. Walk up to a clear spot. Bend down and take some water in your hand. It is very cold and very clear. Drink the water from your hand and feel it refresh your body and soul. This is perhaps the best water you ever tasted. It is almost a magickal water.

Heading back onto the path, you follow the stream and rock wall. You notice the stones on the wall getting more deliberate. The craftsmanship of the wall is remarkable. You even catch glimpses of squirrels and chipminks playing in the wall. Looking up ahead, you see the woods are thinning. You can just make out a field through the trees. Continue to notice your surroundings as you head to the field. The trees. The air. The brids and the warmth of the sun. At the end of the path, you are standing before this mighty field.

But this is not a field like you have seen before. It is no more than an acre in size. And it is perfectly round. It is surrounded by thick forest on all sides. The only way in or out is the way you just came. It is so relaxing. The entire field is surrounded by the rock wall. The only opening in the wall is the North Eastern corner where you now stand. Centered in this field is a massive Sycamore. The trunk of this tree is five feet in diameter. The tree towers 50 feet in the air and is the most awe-inspiring piece of nature you have ever seen. Walk around the tree and realize the massiveness it contains. See the details in the bark and in the leaves. You know this tree is over 100 years old. You walk up to it and place a hand on the trunk. You feel energy pour into your body. Every muscle is in a totally relaxed state. Your head is clear. It feels like a cleansing power has just swept through you. Aches and pains are gone.

Standing here for a moment, you feel an invitaion come from the soul of the tree. An invitation for the giant to share some of its knowledge for you. Instinctivly, you walk to the North side of the tree. You sit with your back up straight and place it firmly against the tree. A breeze carresses your face again and you feel at home here. You are totally supported and feel almost weightless against the tree. Your body tingles with excitment as the tree prepares you for your knowledge.

The Gift

As you relax against this tree, you feel as if you are becoming part of it. Close your eyes. You can feel your spine becoming one with the spine of the tree. You can feel the trunk as part of you. Follow it down into the roots. Roots travel to the very core of the Earth. Feel the ancient knowledge this tree knows. Feel the layers of Earth as you travel through it. You feel as if you are traveling in time. You remember things about your youth. About playing in the woods and finding your favorite tree. About climbing the tree and daydreaming. This tree holds all those thoughts...

Bring yourself back up to the surface. As you travel back up the trunk, you feel like you are back in the present. But the tree takes you higher. She takes you up the trunk and into her branches. The branches feel as if they reach into the cosmos. That they are at the edge of the universe where things yet to happen are reveiling themselves to you. Pay attention to what you see. Given your present course of life, this is where she sees you heading. You may see yourself in a job, or with a family. But this is just a glimpse of things to come. You are not to see too much here. As you try and see your future, you find yourself coming back down the branches and into the trunk. You realize several things. You know that this tree holds the history of your life and your past lives. You realize that you can travel into the past and uncover hidden truths about yourself. You can find the sources of problems and happiness in your life. You can analyze your current situation and see where your course of actions will take you. You can even learn the mysteries here. This is the tree of your higher self. And through it you can connect to anything you desire. If there is something you are not ready for, you will be blind to it.

Think about this gift you have found. The gift to discover who you are. Remember where this is. Remember how to get here. It is completely safe and protected. You realize that you are in your Sacred Garden. Treat it with respect and care. This place can serve you in many ways. You can relax here. You can discover here. You can climb the tree or explore the surroundings.

When you are complete, give thanks to the tree for what you have learned. Follow the path back through the woods. Still, notice the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the air. The trees look different to you. They seem to glow for you. You have become closer to them in a way you may not yet understand. The path will lead you back to the road. Slowly bring yourself back. Take some deep breaths and write down anything you may have learned in your journal.

(Time 16:56)

Sunlight is washing over you through windows all around the stairwell. You feel a sense of peace.

You will descend down seven flights of stairs.

Begin walking down the first flight. Look down and take note that the stairs in this first flight are red. Count the steps you take down. One... two... three... four... five... six... seven... eight... nine... ten...

You have now reached a red landing.

Begin walking down the second flight of stairs. You may need to visit many times to make out what you are seeing.

Now begin to walk up and down the hallway. Run your hand over the doors as you walk by them. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the hallway and the doors.

(1 minute pause)

Now choose a door to enter. Open the door, and step through.

Take some time to walk around and explore. Find the door that you came through, and walk back into the hallway, and shut the door behind you.

It is time to begin your ascent back up the stairs. Get yourself in a comfortable position, then bring your attention to your breathing. Take three deep breaths, in and out.

On your final, deep out-breath, realize that the rhythmic breathing has relaxed you. As your breathing becomes normal again, feel the looseness of your muscles, of your whole, relaxed body; your face, your neck, shoulders, arms, and chest; your hips, thighs, calves, and feet: all relaxed.

In this relaxed state, let your attention drift fully to your breathing once more. Now keep your focus on your breath for a moment, and if any other stray thoughts come up, simply acknowledge them, let them go, and return your focus to your breathing.

(1-minute pause.)

As you continue to breathe, realize that you are walking in a meadow. The grass caresses your bare legs as you move through it, and the sky above is perfect and blue, painted with streams of white, cottony clouds as the sun shines brightly.

Walking through the meadow, you become aware that your favorite flower is growing in patches on either side of you, in with the grass. You bend to pick one as you walk. Holding it up to the sun's light, admire the way the light hits the supple petals, and the way the flower's color seems to glow with life. You might bring the flower to your nose and smell it.

Continue picking flowers as you walk though the field, enjoying the sunshine, the grass, and the wide, open space all to yourself. Pick as many flowers as you want, until your arms are full of them.

(2-minute pause.)

As you pick your last flower, notice a pair of tall, thin trees growing at the edge of the field. One is a slender birch that curves to one side to form an archway with the tree next to it, an equally curved and slender, dark-barked maple.

There are no other trees around, but instead of walking around them, you walk between them, stepping through the archway they form, your arms full of flowers.

As you pass between the trees, a cloud moves over the sun, dimming the area beyond the trees with a brief shadow. It is quieter here, on the other side of the trees, but underlying that quiet is a faint, soothing sound, like water over smooth rocks.

You notice a small grove of tees off to the side that you hadn't seen before. Curious, you walk toward the knot of trees and step into them, only to find yourself in a large, sprawling forest. Birds chirp and sing, and harmless wood animals scurry in the trees, but the sound of water flows beneath those forest noises, hypnotic and irresistible.

There is a faint footpath leading in the direction the water seems to be calling from, and you decide to follow it. The path winds far into the woods, but it seems like only moments before you are standing on the bank of a river, sparkling and clean as it rushes over pebbles and larger, smooth rocks. Oddly, the soothing gurgle of the river is as distant and hypnotic as when you first entered the forest.

You realize that you're still carrying the flowers you picked, and you decide to offer them to the river. Joyfully, you toss them in, watching the flowers rain down on the river to be swept up by the fast-moving current; the blossoms bob and swirl on the water, disappearing over a waterfall that you hadn't seen before.

Intrigued, you walk along the bank to the waterfall, and discover the clear, crisp water gushing onto a flat rock below. The waterfall, you realize, is the perfect size for you to sit beneath, maybe even stand, which suddenly seems like a wonderful idea.

You climb down the gently sloping bank to the edge of the waterfall, and already a faint, cool spray hits your face. If you're wearing clothes, you might decide to take them off, or you might leave them on. Either way, you're completely comfortable as you step onto the flat rock, in the narrow crevice between the rock wall the water is rushing over and the water itself. The water seems to sparkle as the sun shines through it, and it's a pleasure to step beneath the spray.

The water pours over your body as you stand or sit on the flat rock, and you are suddenly and completely immersed in the flow. The water is cool but not too cold, a clean, rejuvenating coolness that floods your entire body, washing away any negativity as it rushes away downriver. Feel the water wash away negativity: negative thoughts, self-doubt, fear, physical illness or pain. Let the water take anything that shouldn't be with you, any burdens you carry in your soul, and feel it cleanse you from the inside out; even the very cells of your body are washed clean.

If the water seems to get stuck somewhere as it flows through you, bring your attention to that spot and allow the water to dislodge whatever is wrong there and bring it back into balance. Know that the water is not only stripping you of illness, negativity and self-doubt, but also repairing any damage these may have done to your body, mind, spirit and emotions. Feel yourself heal.

(5-minute break.)

When you feel fully rejuvenated, healthy and cleansed, step down from the flat rock into the river and offer silent thanks to the water flowing away downriver for the healing you've received.

Feeling alive, healthy and happy, you turn your head to look at the bank opposite the one you climbed down; you realize that there is something familiar about the clearing just through a thin growth of trees there. Without hurry, you climb the bank and walk through the trees, only to find yourself in the meadow you started in.

Smiling, you close your eyes and feel the sun on your face. Your attention gradually returns to your breathing, and soon you become aware of your physical body, the surface you are sitting or lying on, and the room around you. When you are ready, open your eyes, and carry the healing gifts of the waterfall into your life.

Time: 15:26

If you can do this meditation during a Full moon, all the better.

Begin by finding a comfortable sitting position and taking even breaths in and out through your nose. Take a few moments to concentrate on your breath, releasing any tension in your body.

(30 second pause)

Now begin to construct a large bubble around you. The bubble may intersect with the wall, floor, or ceiling, but this is okay. You should be sitting in the middle of this bubble. Know that this bubble is made up of protective energy, not allowing anything negative to enter or approach you. This bubble is a safe space, away from the mundane world.

Take a couple moments now to concentrate on your bubble. Visualize it fully. Know that this bubble will continue to encompass you throughout this entire meditation.

(2 minute pause)

Now picture the Full moon above you in the sky. See the moon fully - a bright, glowing sphere. Acknowledge that this Full moon is an aspect of the Goddess. In Her fullness, She is the Mother, watching over you, protecting you, and lending you Her energy.

Take some time to admire the beauty the Moon. Feel the energy that emanates from it.

(2 minute pause)

Now begin to concentrate on your breath again: even breaths, in and out through your nose. As you inhale, bring down moon energy. Let this moon energy follow your breath, into your body. Know that this moon energy will permeate every part of your body. Take a couple minutes now to allow the moon energy to follow your breath.

(3 minute pause)

Know that now the Goddess is within you, a part of you, and you are a part of Her. You possess the Divinity of the Moon and of the Goddess. You are pure as the light of the Full Moon. Know that the words that follow are your own:

I am the beauty of the green earth,
and the white moon among the stars,
and the mystery of the waters,
and the desire of the heart of man.
Call unto thy soul, arise, and come unto me.
For I am the soul of nature,
who gives life to the Universe.
From me all things proceed,
and unto me all things must return;
and before my face, beloved of gods and of men,
let thine innermost divine self be enfolded,
in the rapture of the infinite.

(30 second pause)

You can now direct the energy you possess anywhere you want. If someone you know is sick, or in need, you may use your energy to help them. Take some time now to focus your energy on this need.

(2 minute pause)

Begin to focus once more on your breath. This time, let the moon energy follow your breath out of your body. Let it return to the moon and to the Goddess. Know that even though you are releasing this energy, that a part of the Goddess still resides within you. Take a moment now to release this energy.

(1 minute pause)

Begin to orient yourself to your physical body. Feel your fingers and toes. Move them if you need to. Now feel your limbs. And now move you head around. Open your eyes when you are ready.

Time: 14:45
