Biography

Alessandro Capoccetti was born on 21 January 1979 in Avezzano (AQ) where he lives to this day.

Already in childhood he displayed an extraordinary talent in music and art in general, so much so that from the age of 8 he played along with his musician father in local bars and halls. His passion turned out to be the drums and he started a course of studies that led him to perform in the most prestigious venues. After his diploma he enrolled at “Saint Louis College Of Music” in Rome where he started to explore all forms of sound and to refine his musical talent.
As well as artistic skill he has a wide knowledge of technology and its practicalities which enabled him to follow a profession as a technician at FONIA LIVE & HD without compromising his career as a musician.
But soon practical necessities forced him out of the music business and he started work for an international import / export agency. He kept up with the music scene for many years, a time in which his life was half-lived, his dreams jeopardised and his hopes banished.

However, a chance meeting with a well known lady photographer unexpectedly gave him the opportunity to change his life. After a light-hearted exchange of  ideas the woman persuaded Alessandro  to leave his dead-end job and dreary life and to open a photographic studio with her. Without  knowing a thing about photography he accepted her offer. He started to work on post-production images with the technical knowledge gained over the years through his enduring intellectual curiosity.  Within months he had fallen in love with the world of photography - its colours, lights, shadows, looks and smiles, traces of life lived.

Unfortunately his new project proved to be a fiasco  and so, after separating from his partner, Alessandro continued to hone his photographic technique and to strive to reflect what his mind's eye saw  through the lens. Thanks to the collaboration and support of his sister Ilaria he managed to open his own studio in May 2008 and decided to exhibit the pictures that best represent his individuality, where his creative passion is conveyed  through his powers of observation and his attention to detail.

His inspiration is the photographer David Lechapelle: ironic, bohemian, outrageous, colourful and unique.  The outstanding features of Alessandro's pictures are the vibrancy of colours, the capture of the perfect moment, the range of expression in his subjects.

His recent work in particular demonstrates his skill in engaging with his subjects and maintaining their individuality and essence  while at the same time endowing the images with his own personal vision.

This project is a collaboration with London Agency” Sinclair Model Management”.   When they saw his pictures in JPG Magazine, the agency contacted Alessandro to offer him the opportunity to participate in the campaign Models of Diversity.
