                                                         Purpose Statement


     We provide a forum for scholars of various traditions and scientific backgrounds to submit papers on all fields pertaining to historical theology, textual and the diverse forms of literary criticism as well as ecumenical movements. Our audience (target readership) is a diverse blend of both specialists as well as educated laymen.   1. •(Paradoseis 1) R. E. Aguirre explores the translational import of the Greek verb εστιν from the original Aramaic into the Greek in the Synoptics and Paul and the impact on the “This is My Body” sayings.

  2. •(Paradoseis 2) R. E. Aguirre gives a fresh examination of the Πετρος saying from the Triple Tradition and in Matt 16:18 in particular, demonstrating that the “rock” refers most likely to the person of Peter.

  4. •(Paradoseis 6) James Deardorff gives a rejoinder to Raymundo’s markan priority paper.

  5. •(Paradoseis 7) Alvaro T. Raymundo gives a sur-rejoinder to Deardorff.

  6. •(Paradoseis 8) R. E. Aguirre investigates 1 Cor 3:15 and whether or not the doctrine of Purgatory can be culled from the text.

  7. •(Paradoseis 9) Paradoseis Journal’s annotated compendium of the best technical commentaries of the New Testament (ranked).

  2. •(Paradoseis 12) R. E. Aguirre tackles the well known crux of Rev 1:20 and on whether αγγελοι refers to either humans or angelic beings (and surveying the little cited comments by Hilary of Poitiers on this issue).
