Film composition with Ice Age 3 Trailer - GarageBand

In this unit of work you learn simple skills used in film composition such as how to add cues/hit points (called markers in GarageBand), how to align sound effects and musical events to the hit points, and how to change the mood of the action with incidental music. Ideally you’ll have a go at creating some of your own incidental music in GarageBand.

This unit of work was created by Nick Lane and James Humberstone. We would like to thank and acknowledge the brilliant Katie Wardrobe who pointed out that these trailers have no music on them, and are therefore perfect for teaching film composition.
