Arts Westmount
Arts Westmount
The Arts Westmount Program offers a package of specialized arts
courses (2 credits per year) to artistically motivated students interested in
Dance, Drama, Music, and Visual Arts. In addition to the arts major, all
students study required and optional academic courses to earn their
secondary school diploma. Students are required to maintain acceptable
levels of achievement and attendance in all subjects. After successfully
completing 8 credits in their chosen art, students will receive a certificate
of achievement.
Admission to the Arts Westmount program begins in grade nine with a
successful audition/interview. Auditions and/or interviews to determine the
appropriateness of this program for each student will be held
A student must choose only one of the four arts majors in which to
audition per application.
Space is limited for this program. We are not able to receive
applications by e-mail. Audition times and specific requirements will be
mailed to applicants prior to the audition times. There is a $20 administration fee for each audition and a $100 course fee for successful applicants.
Successful applicants will be notified in February. Arts Westmount operates
out of Westmount Collegiate Institute, which is linked to the Vaughan City
Playhouse.
