“You can’t lead change if you don’t understand.”
---Dr. Christine Tell, Achieve
An unauthorized, unofficial guide to implementation
Let’s get one thing straight, this site is not sanctioned by any department of education, political group, higher education institute, school system or committee. It is a direct result of conversations among (Not-So) ordinary educators who must make the new Common Core State Standards “happen” in classrooms everywhere.
No one knows exactly what the new generation of assessments will look like. We do know what the Common Core Standards are in Math and English Language Arts. We can read the grants written by PARCC and Smarter Balanced. Our job, right now, is to read, study, learn, and share.
The material on this website comes from many great sources. We are trying to help organize them for our own learning and make them easier to share with others. Educators tend to be busy people and if it can be said in 10 words instead of 10 pages, that’s what this website is about! As far as I am concerned you should feel free to download, copy, edit, and use anything you need. We will always give credit to the source where appropriate.
Do you have something you are willing to share? A great article? Video? Presentation? Created any tools or templates? Email it to us!
For you technology-challenged folks anything that is underlined on this site is a link to another page or allows you to download a document. You will have to download the document, look at it, and decide to keep or delete it. The words in the brown bar at the top of the pages will also take you straight to the key categories.
