Director's Commentary: Your looking at the very first WTD comic ever (July '06). This strip set the tone for everything What the Duck - style, humor, palette, timing, and typos (corrected). 2+ years later, I'm still happy with the decisions I made that day and considering I only intended on making 5 comics total, I got lucky too. A lot of cartoon and comic characters change in appearance over time (BTW does Garfield have tumors in his feet?) but the duck is exactly the same today as he was in frame one, day one. So for today's conversation - Would you change anything about the duck? If so, what? Bonus discussion: What cartoon/comic character has changed the most over time?
